Since I’m comfortable with not blogging right now, I guess I should declare I’m on a hiatus from updating this blog besides the art section. As much as I sincerely want to do some journalism, there are also a lot of other things I want and have to do.
College just restarted half a month ago and I’m now in my third year full of majors. 2D and 3D animation, photography and web development classes, yay! Then swine flu suspended colleges all over the metro. There’s been drama over the issue on my college’s responsibility for its students, whether to suspend or be the last college standing. But I’m not gonna rant on about that as a black and white issue.
What really put me down is that the pandemic cancelled my college’s delegation to Singapore for the CG Overdrive convention – a convention I have been waiting for a year to attend as my family’s 18th birthday gift to me – that is happening this week. Fortunately, vaccines for swine flu had been recently developed… When trips to Singapore were already cancelled. It’s great and all that there’s a vaccine, really relieving to know, but the timing of things feels like some cosmic insult.
There’s always next year, I guess; and I have more time to work on a formal character design portfolio.
So now, I’ve been using my free time by:
- drawing – as usual
- playing Grand Theft Auto 4 – shooting people and stealing cars
- Playing games on my sony PSP – damn you Katamari Damacy
- touching up on my web developing skills – learning new CSS tricks
And planning on:
- making money online as an artist – for a taste of financial independence
- getting a domain and paid hosting – for a better taste of professionalism
- redesigning this website – reorganize categories and archives, tweak the theme a whole lot more, design the comments section, make a page for extra content, etc.
This website will still be updated with art until I move into my future domain.
